Debian – Google Coral Board – How to change IP address with wpa_supplicant preinstalled

I am new in Linux Embedded System, and I have a newly flashed Google Coral Board. I was trying to change the wlan0 IP address to a fixed (static) IP address by adding configuration to etc/network/interfaces. When I type ip a, wlan0 adds bunch of these configurations, but I was not able to ssh through any of this.

I also notice there is a wpa_supplicant preinstalled on this device. So what is the correct way to change network configuration with wpa_supplicant package?

As I research, there is wireless_tool and eth0_tool in some directory if-up and if-down. I do not quite understand how these work. Any explanation or advice would help!
