The Unifi Building to Building Bridge datasheet has a citation of 500m as its range. For an application I am considering, the distance between the two ideal locations I'd like linked is 20% farther, 600m.
Does anyone have experience operating this device at or near the limit and have any insight into the performance degradation characteristics at these distances?
My location is rural and offers enough flexibility to run 50m on each end to compensate for the difference but just really curious if this is really necessary. One other question, while you're here, can you connect one end to an access point directly or is a managed switch on both ends of the bridge a requirement? Thanks a lot.
