How to clone GitHub repo for transfer learning

Hi fellas. I am new to GitHub. I'm learning machine learning and as models become more complex, it's been general advice to use a pre-trained model from a nice GitHub repo. I am completely stuck after the git clone command line. I'm not sure how to test in on my images. I also have no idea how to customize it to suit my task. I have watched a lot of YouTube videos but it has only worsened things. I'm very much confused now. So, I would like to ask you, experienced guys, for counsel. I have two huge questions

1) How do I simply clone a model and start predicting?

2) If I want to fine-tune a few layers or even train a few layers from scratch, how do I do that?

I hope I get my answers here. Thanks in advance guys!
